behind me, the work force of our bay area, san francisco, and oakland and others. want to thank everybody for coming here this morning. you know, we have another announcement to make, but it's consistent with the efforts that are being made by the warriors management to work with all of us in the city and to really adapt to the kinds of things that we've all shown as the values of our city. it is so important ause i remin people, this is a private investment of hundreds of millions of dollars. did i say 5 last week? across the bay or look down in san jose, where the crime rates have rocketed off the charts. oakland has twice the number of homicides we have in a city half the size because they were laying off officers. i think the reality of the situation you that you have to have officers on the streets with proactive law enforcement in order to prevent that situation. so i think the fact that we're hiring we owe great honors and kudos to the mayor and the board of supervisors. because otherwise we would be in the same situation and it's terrible what is happening over there, especially in oakland. with reference to other reports i attended a memorial with the chief for officer gelf, who was also killed in the line of duty and interesting, most of the officers there were talking how they were going to retire in the next six months and making the hiring of new officers very important. our officers learned that night that they should have the same weapons so they could share am nation and legislation that resulted from that because the suspect who killed the officer was wearing body armoire. it was a

in value lay oh, by blue and gold employee and is so successful are in the ala media oakland and harbor bay and the newest san francisco ferry service and the remaining eight are operate in the excursion business bay reuses, charters and our rocket boat we operate to tib bureau ron, angel island and our commuter ferry service to tib bureau ron and the 15 services are all maintained by blue and gold feet employees at our pier nine facility in san francisco. i don't believe this slide needs much explanation these are the public agencies who over see our operations as you can see, we get a lot of help. every from the port to fish and game and i believe we have a good relationship with all of the agencies since we abide and understand that each agency has a job do and performs a service to the public. blue and gold employs 250 employees during the peak season and one 75 employees year round, we have a diverse workforce and are proud of providing a an atmosphere for quloiys to reach their potential and we have a numerous employees that have started as photographers and have become captains an

the most really typical building that with just completed in oakland is a 10-story mid rise, 1440 broadway t. was well reported in the news because unfortunately right after we bought it, the [speaker not understood] destroyed the building and it's right there occupy oakland. and we've come back and built that. we had that building to its historic pinnacle and it's absolutely beautiful. our lead tenant in it is a company, well known company in the east bay called oaklandish. that is a design company. well known design company. so, the two office buildings, 101, 104, 114 broadway is very similar. we're right in the middle of a rehab in cincinnati, ohio, a brick building very similar to that one -- to -- this is also going office light industrial. i would say 1440 would be the best nearby example of the 101 and 104-type building. the two buildings that are subject to the advisory of imminent collapse which is 113 and 114, that would probably be like the last slide, which was the 4-point project in richmond, california. that building won the national merit award, which is one of the highest a

in 800 mega hurtz and not what oakland had but the simulcast radios and departments didn't want toking on the same but we put them on it and you're probably in the next genraition of those radios right now and by the way -- there was a man here who preceded the mayor. it was then called the chief administrative officer and rudy rothenberg and incredible civil servant and i worked with him on this building. in fact i drew this building. i had architecture work as a midship man and if i find it i'm going to give it to you. we also as a result of that we subsumed the department of public health ambulance into the fire department and should have been done years ago and we centralized 911 upstairs. it was a great ride. in addition to the people i mentioned there were scores of others that helped me to succeed kronenberg was one of these people to help me when the political system was going on and i am particularly indebted to the usual suspects, the san francisco suspects who come forward when you have problems and help you to fix them, and i will end with that because they make a dif

that golden state warriors with their lease expiring in oakland in 2017. i understand the reason for the pace of the project but we have of course asked for a balance to be struck, given many of the concerns that residents have around traffic and noise and density, and also how we as a city is going to respond to the increased infrastructure demands with this arena in place. i do want to thank the city and the warriors for agreeing to some kind of slow down to certain level of -- for example, moving oir eir scoping meeting from mid-december not midst of the holidays when residents are with their families and employees and pushing that to mid-january and also requiring that our citizens advisory committee, which was set up to advise both the board of supervisors and the mayor's office on this project, have at least two meetings in their cap meetings to discuss the term sheet before it comes to the full board and to allow the citizens advisory committee to actually give the board and city feedback on the term sheet before we get a chance to actually discuss it and vote for it. so i did make a s

lines beyond towards oakland. we want to provide a large views and connected views and movement along the east side of the pier. then to the south adjacent to the new street wharf project, we want to create a more recreational low rise atmosphere, the best response to these new developments by the city and to the west. alongside the seawall sites, we want to have a scale that's intimate with the embarcadaro and that is responsive to the cultural traditions that most people recognize along the embarcadaro. you'll also see squares, there is a little square up there that's red. that is the location of reds which is one of the structures on the site. and there's been another blue square off to the left that is the water mark residences that are part of the adjoining sites here and we're trying to take care of their interests as we develop the project further. you maybe have seen some images of this site in the past. this is one of the views taken from a newspaper article showing a earlier understanding of what might be built here and essentially the arena was placed in the center of the s

in oakland, they got arrested in richmond, they may have gotten arrested in san mateo. to that end it's all of our -- the individual might have gotten arrested in san mateo, wendy will make sure we work together as a region as opposed to just san francisco. so there is no more fragmentation of responsibility. the other new thing we came up with is an actual calendar. you are familiar with zone enforcement. now we have an actual calendar for thursday through sunday and what it does, i personally do the calendar, i include the specialized units like the hondas, the solos, the tactical units, day watch and night watch and the violence reduction teams and gang task force. and the calendar, literally i assume people tote zones and assign people to those areas both days and nights and the supervisor who is on screen we have their cell phone number right on the calendar. so if something happens or if they need information from me, i can immediately send it to them. for example, just using it as an example, violence in the mission. what had happened was many of the officers, they have a genera
